Haydee M. Hernandez de Cánovas, 75. Retired.
I emigrated from Pinar del Río, Cuba, when I was 25. I love to read, make rosaries. My greatest hope is to see my children on a good path in life. The main reason I emigrated was that I was in prison for being anti-revolutionary and they were giving me 25 years.
My Lord Jesus Christ has blessed me with a very beautiful family. What is hardest about being an immigrant is to find oneself alone in a foreign language country, even though I married here, I arrived alone and without family here…
What I like the most about living in this country is that everyone here is welcomed the same and the opportunity to better ourselves.
